The Partnership Memorandum of Understanding between the Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding and ELRA was signed in Reykjavik on April 20th, 2017 by Madame Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, former President of Iceland, Prof. Audur Hauksdottir, Director of the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute and Prof. Sebastian Drude, Director of the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir International Center and Dr Joseph Mariani, Research Director Emeritus at CNRS and Honorary President of ELRA and Dr Khalid Choukri, Secretary General of ELRA.

Co-operation will focus on language-related issues including the Less-Resourced Languages and the use of Language Technologies and Language Resources.

The ELRA representatives also took part in the opening of Veröld – hús Vigdísar (Vigdis' House) and the inauguration of the Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding
